Getting to know the Family!

Hello Blog World!

I wanted my first blog to be an introduction to my family.  I have a big family so I will just introduce a few of them that will probably come up regularly in my blogs.  If there will be others mentioned later I will ensure I write more about them then.

First:  About ME! My name is Alishia Nicole Sexton.  My maiden name is Alishia Bates.  I was born and raised a Mississippi girl.  I went to Florence Schools for all 13 years! Throughout school I was involved in all kinds of sports and clubs (therefore I stayed skinny until life happened!). After high school I joined the Air Force.  I spent 4 years in Minot, ND.  And with slogans like "Freezin is the Reason" and "Why not Minot" I knew it was going to be a challenge.  I met tons of people and had some experiences I wouldn't have had anywhere else!  While in the military I saw Canada (I lived about 30 mins from the border lol), Kuwait (03), Iraq (03), visited Korea and Japan. Stateside I visited the Bad Lands, Montana, Minnesota, California, Texas, and Arizona.  Like I said I have done some things I would have never done without the military.
While I was in the military I married my 1st husband (who doesn't even get the mention of a name!).  During that time of my life I came back to MS to start school (he was in Korea).  I completed one year at Hinds then decided to follow my best friend from the military to Las Vegas (Beth Kinsey Hansen).  I lived out there for about 6 months and I had a great time! Due to the splitting/divorcing of my then husband I had to move back home.  I started working and going out all the time.  When I went to Minot I had been fighting but losing my relationship with GOD. After my husband then and I split I gave up the fight and I found myself going to a place that I knew better.  After I was pretty much at the bottom and at end of my rope I broke down one night and hit my knees to pray. That night I prayed that God should show me the way to go and I would follow without questions.
I literally prayed that if he wanted me to get married again to please let it be with someone who had been through what I had or had experienced everything. (I know that was too specific for God but he says ask so I did lol). Not but about two days later he answered my prayers to a T! That Saturday when I came home from work (about 1am) I had received a facebook message that an ex-co-worker (whom I barely could remember) told me to call him anytime because he stayed up late.  I prayed and felt like I should call so I did!  We talked for about a 1 and a half. I thought to myself this is exactly what I prayed for but he would never call me back!...Boy was I so wrong!!! He called the next morning! And ask me to go to church with him and his son! At first I was hesitant...I mean meeting the child on the first date!  COME ON!! Then I thought "how bad could it be we are going to church"...So I said YES!!  That date was the longest date I had ever been on in my life and we hit it off perfectly!  I must tell you though I did meet his child and his parents all in the first date...Talk about moving fast!
Needless to say our relationship has been fast ever since.  May I introduce my hubby Wil Sexton...

He is a wonderful husband! Of course we have problems sometimes but we always work it out and pray about it! When I was planning my high school reunion and looking through the pictures I came across this...

Can you tell who this is?...That's right that is Wil and I...that was my senior year and we were with some friends from our job at Kroger.  We don't even remember this!  We couldn't believe it! Needless to say if it is meant to be it will be!
He is a wonderful father also!  He loves his kids...which brings me too introducing Caden Sexton....

He just turned 6 and is SO smart!  He loves any kind of art! Loves to sing, dance, play any kind of games and sports. He has a great smile and awesome personality! He getting taller seems like everyday! I have been around him for about 4 1/2 years so I treat, love, and encourage him as if he where mine!
Wil and I had a son together...introducing Joshua (Josh) Sexton...
Everyone usually says he looks like me, my brother Rusty or Wil.  I think he looks like Josh! lol He has pretty eyes, great smile and a laugh that could keep you rolling on the floor lol. He is 3 but the avg size of a 5 year old.  He loves movies and sports.
My family is the light of my life and hopefully one day we can add a girl to the mix!

Now some other family members that will need to be introduced!
My Mom...Lyn Gray Overstreet and her mom...my Granny (Betty Gray)! My mom works for the Army Guard and my granny retired from working for the Army Guard. They have been though so much in life and still stay strong!  They are both women I look up to and proud to call family!  Thank you for showing me how to be strong in Christ!  We love y'all!

Introducing my Dad, Step-Mom Betty, Brother Rusty, Sister-in-law Ashley...

My brother is in the military and is stationed in Hawaii...can you believe it...I get the cold place and he gets beaches!! :)
My dad is in the Air Guard and my step-mom is retired.  My dad inspired me to join the military and taught me to love and respect the military. We love y'all!

Introducing Wil's parents...My In-Laws....
Wade and Carolyn Sexton!  They supported Wil through everything life has thrown at him.  They LOVE having the grandchildren. They would probably keep them forever if we let them lol.  We love y'all!

WELL..I guess that about does it for now!  Next I want to tell y'all about Caden's wonderful 6th Birthday!
GOD BLESS!
